AI-500 RULES AND INFORMATION
—————————————–
ARRIVAL/CAR PARKING
On arrival, you will be met by a member of staff and asked if you are staying on site or off site. From here you will be ferried to different sections of the car park dependant on your sleeping arrangements. You will then be asked to register and pay your remaining balance. Please ensure that you bring CASH as we have no card facilities on site. Anyone who does not will be directed to the nearest cash point and will be unable to enter the site until this balance is paid.
Gates will open at 3PM on Friday. Please do not get here any earlier than this as you will not be let on site and there isn’t room outside the site to congregate. Gates will close at 10PM on the Friday. Gates will re-open on Saturday morning at 7:00AM and close promptly at 8:45AM to ensure players arriving have time to book in, sort out their sleeping arrangements and be ready for the briefing.
WE ADVISE ALL PLAYERS TO REGISTER AND CHRONO ON FRIDAY AS TO NOT DELAY THE START OF THE GAME.
SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS
Information regarding sleeping arrangements have already been sent out by Sharon ([email protected]). In short, you have the option of camping, or sleeping in a building (however these building spaces are limited and are available on a first come, first serve basis). Please ensure you email Sharon to let us know what your plans regarding accommodation are. Anyone who does not reply will be assumed to be sleeping off site.
There is a strict noise curfew on the indoor sleeping of 11PM. This is to allow those who wish to sleep the ability to do so. Anyone breaking the noise curfew will be warned once, and if broken again, asked to sleep elsewhere. Staff will be using this sleeping area, so please respect this noise curfew to allow them to sleep.
For those of you who wish to sleep in your cars or in camper vans, this is viable, however access to the site after 11PM will be limited as staff will need to sleep and the game area needs to be locked up overnight. Please do not expect to be let out to cars or back into the park after this time unless in an emergency situation.
GENERAL CONDUCT
Whilst on site and within the local area please remember that your conduct may be under the scrutiny of others at all times, and as such your actions may be considered as representative of the wider airsoft community. Please act with due discretion and respect for both the site and the surrounding areas, as well as for its staff, other attendees and the local populace at all times.
ON SITE FACILITIES
A food vendor will be on site from Friday evening providing breakfast, lunch and dinner. Please respect the members of staff doing so as they are an outside catering company. Any reports of harassment will result in IMMEDIATE EXPULSION from the event.
Toilets are available on site. Please treat these with respect and ensure they are left tidy for the next player.
There is no running water available on site so please bring enough drinking water to see you through the weekend. One of the biggest causes to stops in gameplay is a lack of hydration, so please make sure you are drinking enough.
There are to be no open fires on site. Camping stoves may be used but cannot be placed directly on the ground. The same applies to disposable BBQs, but please make sure these are disposed of after use.
A fully licenced bar will be on site on the Friday and Saturday evening serving alcohol to those over 18. If they challenge you for ID, please do not argue with them. Anyone caught buying alcohol for anyone under 18 will be removed from the event.
We would ask that all attendees act with consideration and common sense with regards to alcohol. Anyone under the influence of alcohol during game play will be removed from the site immediately during gaming periods. Outside of the stated gaming periods we will treat you as adults and expect you to behave as such. Please show proper levels of consideration to other players and to neighbours of the site.
In the event that any AI500 attendees are found or reported to be using illegal drugs or are under the influence of drugs, including marijuana, they will be asked to leave the site immediately and subject to the extent of the law.
ON SITE SHOP
As always, Matt from Ammo Drop will be at the event with a selection of product ranging from pyrotechnics through to AEGs. If there is something specific you are wanting brought, you can DM Matt on Discord (@Matt Skirmish).
ELECTRICITY
There is restricted power available on site. Due to this we would suggest that players ensure they have enough batteries for AEGs and radios to last the entirety of the weekend. While there are limited power points in the canteen area, there are nowhere near enough to ensure 400 players can charge phones/AEG batteries/radio batteries. Personally, we will not be bringing any chargers with us, so if you do not have enough batteries to last a full event, you will need to bring your own charger with you.
FILMING/PHOTOGRAPHY
We will have our own photographer on site as per usual. He will be wearing high-vis so please do not shoot at him for the sake of it. There are no restrictions on personal filming or taking pictures, but no responsibility for your equipment is taken by the organisers. If you break it – tough!
Drones are not permitted to be used as we are next door to an RAF site.
RUBBISH
It is important for those attending to remember you are guests on the site and it is the responsibility of each and every player to ensure that waste and rubbish is managed correctly. A rubbish collection point will be provided for household/camping waste. Please do not place any airsoft disposables within this collection point.
While we expect a certain level of tidying will need to be done by staff, we do not expect players to leave rubbish in their sleeping areas, so we would appreciate your co-operation in ensuring you have deposited all rubbish into the collection points before departure.
RAFFLE
The raffle for this event will be called exactly 1 hour after ENDEX on the Saturday. There is no cost to enter the raffle.
We will be doing the raffle differently than in the past. Each player has a unique player number which is assigned when booking in. These numbers will be placed in a hat and drawn out, alternating between green and tan, with the first draw being determined by a game of Rock/Paper/Scissors between Matt and Gary.
If your number is drawn and you are not at the raffle, your number will be removed from the raffle pot and another winner will be drawn.
DROP-IN SESSION
Following the raffle, CJ, Jason and Paul will be in the canteen for roughly 45 minutes. If you have any issues, suggestions or complaints, this is the best time to come and air them. We will then do our best to ensure they are actioned for the Sunday and taken into consideration for following events.
LUNCH BREAKS
Due to the large number of players at the event, we will not be doing a hard stop for lunch. Instead, players will be sent for lunch at staggered timings based on your sections. Your commanders will brief you on this closer to the event. This lunch break is MANDATORY as we want to ensure gameplay is as fair as possible throughout the event and do not want a situation arising where one team chooses to game the system for a numbers advantage.
CAMOUFLAGE/EQUIPMENT RULES
Green Team
-
Green dominant camouflage
-
Green/Black blocked uniform
-
Civilian clothing (As long as its not tan)
Tan Team
-
Tan dominant camouflage (this includes MTP/MultiCam)
-
Tan blocked uniform
GREY IS NOT TO BE WORN BY EITHER TEAM.
These camouflage rules only apply to your clothing. Plate carriers, belt orders, pouches etc. can be any colour, however expect some level of friendly fire.
All players will be expected to wear suitable shooting glasses, however due to the site we would advise full face protection. The use of shooting glasses or mesh goggles remains at the discretion of the user and the event organisers take no responsibility for any injuries or consequences of choosing to not use a full face mask. If at any time a member of staff deems your eye protection to be inadequate or unsafe, we reserve the right to refuse to allow you to continue play until an alternative is found.
Boots are also mandatory, and trainers are not allowed.
BRIEFING
The briefing will start at 9:30AM on Saturday morning. This is mandatory to attend, regardless of how many airsoft events you have played in the past. Any players who do not attend the full briefing will be held back in the car park when gameplay starts and briefed at a time when staff have the ability to do so.
Should we feel the need to re-brief on the Sunday morning, this will also be held at 9:30AM, however provided you all behave, this will not be a requirement.
CHRONOING AND FPS LIMITS
All guns will need chrono’ing before they are allowed in the gaming area. To allow us to get through the entirety of the player base, please do not bring dozens of guns to chrono. All guns will be measured in FPS with a conversion chart used for higher weighted Bbs due to the sheer amount of rifles we will be chrono’ing.
Chrono facilities will open at 3:30PM on Friday and will be available until 9AM on Saturday. We will also be doing spot checks throughout the weekend. If approached by a marshal during gameplay, please respect that this is random and no one is accusing you of cheating.
Primary/Secondary weapons, Support Weapons and Shotguns will have a maximum FPS of 350FPS set with a max weight of .36.
Designated Marksman Rifles (DMRs) will have a maximum of 450FPS set with a max weight of .40. These rifles have to be LOCKED to semi-automatic, and will work off a single BB in the air at any given target at any given moment to prevent double tapping. These will also not be able to make use of binary triggers.
Sniper rifles will have a maximum of 500FPS set with a max weight of .43.
These weapons will have a minimum engagement range of 30 meters. If people are caught breaking these rules, we will simply remove DMRs and sniper rifles from play.
Below is the conversion list used for FPS limits at chronoing, made using a conversion chart –

IN-GAME MISSIONS
The event runs on a mission basis, with each team required to complete certain tasks at set intervals to progress the storyline. The first mission will be made available to your team commanders on the Friday. Further missions will be released as the event progresses.
We will be using Discord in game to feed information to the commanders and sub commanders at times, so whenever you are in your CP please use this time to check for updates to mission objectives if you cannot locate a member of the command network.
It is the responsibility of the command network to ensure their team is briefed on what you should be doing at set times throughout the event. If there is anything you DO NOT understand, please speak to them directly.
However, if you feel like your command network is failing you in this, please report it to a marshal and we will ensure this is actioned upon.
WEAPON/AMMO RULES
Ammo limits for this event are 600 rounds per respawn for riflemen. This is to be carried in filled magazines and not as loose ammo. No reloading can be done while in the field. This must be carried in weapon-appropriate magazines (i.e. no drum mags on AEGs/GBBs/Pistols). Once you have used up your 600 rounds, you will need to go back to your CP to reload.
The event is single-shot only. This means there is a break between each shot taken. Anyone caught spamming their trigger will be warned by a marshal. If you continuously break this rule you will at first be asked to return to the safe zone for a 30-minute time out. If you break the rules again after this, you will be removed from the event.
No blind firing at any time or in any situation. If caught, the same ruling as above will apply.
Only true, recognised support weapons will be counted as such. This means platforms such as a MK.43, MG4, M249, SAW, RPK etc. Support gunners are only allowed 1 box mag per life (IRO 1500-2000 rounds) and are required to reload back at their designated CP. Players utilising a support gun are required to move slowly when firing, and cannot run and gun. Please do not hose down players. Support guns are limited to 2 per section, and there are specific in-game missions to trigger the usage of these.
The Ammo limit for DMRs is set to 300. Sniper Rifles are limited to 150.
Secondary weapons are limited to 100 rounds per respawn across all weapon platforms. Secondary weapons are classed as pistols for LMGs and Riflemen. SMGs may be utilised by those using sniper rifles/DMRs to allow for MED rules.
PYROTECHNICS
Pyrotechnics can be used, but a MK.5 limit is in place. Reusable pyro should be of the equivalent decibel rating. Players are limited to 3 pyro per player per respawn.
All 40’s, ‘Mini Mikes’ and TAG rounds are banned. Furthermore, red smoke is banned.
Please do not break the decibel limit as we are very close to both residential areas and a supermarket, and we do not want police attending as this will cause the gameplay to stop.
Pyrotechnic rules are as follows –
- Pyro has a 5m kill-radius Pyro kills are INSTANT kills and it is not possible to medic a player who has been killed by pyro. If you are awaiting a medic and pyro goes off in your radius, count it as a second kill and return to respawn.
- Pyro that eject pellets do not need to physically hit a player in order to eliminate them.
- ALL pyro must be deployed UNDERARM at all times.
- Once deployed, players should not interrupt the flow of play to retrieve reusable pyro and instead must wait until they move past the position in order to retrieve their device (bear in mind that if deployed in a small room ALL occupants should be eliminated so there’s no excuse not to move through yourself). Marshals are not in place to retrieve devices and will not fetch a deployed grenade for you in order for you to reload it and deploy it.
- If, as a player, you happen across a deployed, reusable grenade, which is not yours simply leave it alone for the owner to retrieve
-
Players will be allowed to return to the gaming areas at break times in order to collect devices not already picked up.
HIT TAKING
A BB hitting any part of your body is classed as a hit. A weapon hit should be called out and then you MUST revert to a secondary weapon and can only return to using your main weapon once you respawn.
All hits must be taken, please give players and yourself the benefit of the doubt. If you think you have been hit then simply call yourself out. If you think you have hit someone else and they are refusing to take their hit then please call a marshal. DO NOT start abusing someone for not taking a hit. If we catch you doing this, we will send you back to respawn with a cooling down period. If we catch you doing this multiple times, we reserve the right to remove you from the event.
We consider not taking hits cheating and will ask you to leave if this is consistently happening throughout game play. Play fair at all times and respect one another.
DEAD PLAYERS DO NOT TALK… AT ALL. YOU’RE DEAD.
MEDIC RULES
Subteams will be allocated 2 medics. They will be able to ‘medic’ players back into the game. These medics will have a limited amount of resources to use to revive players in game. Medics can only revive players who have been hit once. If a player already has an armband on, they cannot be revived again.
Once these medics have used all of their resources, they must return to respawn to gather more, or find more out in the field. If medic bands are found out in the field, only a medic can move them. ANY MEDIC BANDS RECOVERED BY PLAYERS WHO ARE NOT MEDICS WILL BE REMOVED AND REPLACED IN THE FIELD.
When hit, call ‘HIT’ or ‘MEDIC’. Your medic will then have a 5 minute period to reach you. You cannot return to respawn until this 5 minute period has been spent. If in the way of an active firefight, you can move yourself to avoid being hit constantly, but within reason. You can also choose to simply sit or lay down. If an enemy player reaches your position within this 5 minute period, they may choose to either execute you or capture you. If they capture you, they can return you to their respawn.
Some players will hold vital information in envelops, these are not to be opened by the players holding them, and must be given to the opposing teams command network if recovered. These can only be recovered when a player is escorted to the teams CP.
If you return to respawn with a medic band on, please return these to the designated medic box at your CP to ensure your medics have the resources they need to do their job in-game. If your medics return to respawn and there are no arm bands available, then you are massively hindering them, and in turn your entire team, so make sure you adhere to this.
DOORS/WINDOWS/BARRICADES
Any doors and/or windows that are open must remain open at all times. If we find people closing these to poke their barrels through small gaps, we will simply lock all the doors and restrict you from using indoor areas.
While we will do our best to ensure that all barricades are fully covered, if for whatever reason there are holes in them, please do not shoot through them. Barricades are to be treated like they are walls, and you cannot shoot through them. The same goes for if there are gaps at the bottom.
RULE BREAKING
We have a 3 strike and you’re out system for rule breaking, please read the rules carefully, signing up for the game means you have read the rules and understand them correctly. No excuses for not knowing these will be considered.
- Break a rule and the marshals will point out your error and ask you not to do it again.
- Caught twice and you will be asked to go back to the safe zone and sit out the game for 30 minutes.
- 3rd strike and you’re out. No exceptions.
All our marshals carry radios and all have mobile devices with cameras on. You will not get away with rule breaking so please don’t try. Play the game fair and you will have a fantastic weekend.
